12.21.12

12.21.12 End of the world or a new beginning?  Reiki is a type of energy healing and to be an effective practitioner one must be sensitive to the flow of energy.  The flow of energy occurs in many ways and on many levels: to and from individuals, food, earth, sun, moon and cosmos.  Is our physical landscape coming to an end right now?  No.  What is coming into focus is the way the mind brings in and communicates information, how we connect emotionally to Self and others, and spiritually to something bigger than Self.  These are concepts that we want to put thought and action towards learning to sustain positive relationships with Self, others and our surroundings.  Reiki helps to nurture, relax and heal the body, mind, emotions and spirit.  Reiki can be offered lying down or seated in a chair (fully clothed).  Reiki is safe for all ages from babies to seniors and has no contraindications.

Karma Yoga

Karma Yoga, selfless service to others. What do you think
that looks like? Selfless service.

Service to others is not like helping or fixing. Fixing takes away
someone’s power because you do the work for them. Helping can
be on the verge of taking away someone’s power if you are ‘helping’
them do something YOU want them to do, not what they want to do.

Service is doing something for someone that they want, it has nothing
at all to do with you. And selfless simply means involving less self in
the process.

Do you think this happens very much anymore….selfless service?

Question

Someone just the other day said to me ‘where do you put your
ego when you are in Yoga’.  I thought that was such an interesting
question.  The definition of ego is a person’s sense of self esteem
or self importance.

Do we really feel like we have to put aside our sense of self importance
to learn more about ourselves.  If we feel we are important wouldn’t that
help us want to learn more about ourselves?

Dream

I had a dream last night about meditating with three wolves.
I have been working on some ideas for my career path
and knew this dream had significance.
I was drawn to a website called wolfpie-art.com and these
are the words that spoke to me:

‘Traditionally, someone with” Wolf Medicine” has a strong
sense of self, communicates well through subtle changes in
voice inflection and body movements .They often find new
solutions to problems while providing stability and support
that one normally associates with a family structure’.

Thank you wolfpie!

Self and Higher Self

What is the difference between self and
higher self?
Take a look in the mirror, right into the
center of your eyes. Your self looks back
at you with wonder, your higher self
looks back at you with purpose.
